According to a survey done by Visa European credit branch, it has been found that most people book their tickets during the second week of January. Thus this time is year’s busiest time for booking flights tickets. Most of the people will be searching for the best deals in the travel insurance sector.
The figures reveal that there have been eighty thousand more bookings as compared to the last year. The top most preferred destinations were Amsterdam, Malaga and Spanish regions like Barcelona and Paris.
While addressing to the conference the head of Visa’s European Operations Tony Gibbons told that most of the international air bookings have been done on the 14th January itself. He attributed the main reason for this growth as the many employees are on holiday during this time and during this time there is an off season in these places.
Contrary to popular belief that the people are looking forward to a sunny weekend in the Mediterranean or to some beach destinations there has been a change in the trend and more people are beginning to explore the popular destinations during their off season. He also highlighted towards the increasing number of British passengers opting for the many African and Middle East countries. These countries are expected to perform better during the current year.
In India the aviation sector is on growth. Airline companies such as Jet Airlines, Air India are carrying lots of passengers along with other domestic airlines. Online travel agents such as Make My Trip and Travel Guru provide cheap tickets and lucrative offers to attract customers.
Another eminent personality Paul David has also focussed on the point that since the 14th January this year was Friday, there has been 70 per cent increase in the customer queries and has shown interest in making trips. The main reason for this trend is that the people want to start their year on a high note, filled with positive vibrations and energy so that the entire year goes just like that!
